Q) How is the trap assembled?
A) Hook the inside hook with the inside loop, this should form a sort of funnel shape inside the net. Hang from the desired location and then place the bowl inside the metal ring provided. Watch the video to see exactly how this is done.
Q) How can flies get in but not escape?
A) The flies are drawn to the bait in the tray which is at the bottom of the trap and the only natural way to get out is straight up. This leads the fly through a little metal ring and into the trap! In theory, they could escape if they were smart, but it's very rare!
Q) Where do I hang it?
A) We highly recommend hanging your trap(s) in areas where it will be in direct sunlight for a good few hours of the day. It's also crucial to hang it at least 1.5M from the ground so that it on the same height level as your horse or livestock.
Q) How much land does one trap cover?
A) This varies, another contributing variable is the number of animals you own. We'd recommend a trap placed every 25M of land that is fly infested and 1 per animal owned. So if you own a stable & paddocks for example that was swarming with flies and owned 6 horses, we'd recommend around 6-10 traps is a decent number to begin making an impact on those nasty flies.
Q) What flies does the trap catch?
A) Results vary from user to user, but our traps have been commonly known to catch the following: Horse / stable fly, gnats, deer fly, yellow fly, blue bottle fly, house fly, fruit fly, brow fly, face fly and many more!
Please note: These traps will NOT catch bot flies.

Q) What Bait Should I use?
A) This is where you can get creative. There is no right or wrong answer here. You should always use at least kind of meat so that biting flies on your animal are more drawn to your bait. We've found that wet cat food mixed with beer and fish works a treat. Other customers have reported dry rotting fruits mixed with beer too! You may also pick up some of our pre-made bait which consists of crushed up fish bones. The flies go mad for it!
